Please note that sale or discounted plants/items are not covered by a guarantee or warranty. If you need to return a plant, please bring the receipt (highlighting the purchase of the plant and the Living Soil® amender on the same receipt), along with the plant for inspection and identification. If the return is approved, you will receive a replacement plant or a Zone 7, Inc. store credit. No cash or credit card refunds will be given. We want you to be successful at planting in our clay soil. We require the use of Living Soil® amender due to the nature of our natural soil. It is made specifically for use with Upstate South Carolina soil. It lightens and loosens soil, improves the pH, and takes advantage of the moisture-retaining property of the existing soil. Living Soil® also contains sea kelp extract, important B vitamins, humic acids, along with beneficial bacteria and organisms commonly called micorhizae. Micorhizae is the “living” element of Living Soil®. These fungi organisms permanently attach themselves to plant root systems, improving uptake of moisture and nutrients, reducing transplant shock, improving drought tolerance and accelerating plant growth. The soil amender should be mixed with native clay soil at the recommended rates listed in the chart. It is also important to prepare the hole for the plant according to the following diagram:
