Perennials

perrinialsPerennials return each year, providing your landscape with year-round color and texture.

The tops of most perennials will die back each fall. A few will retain green leaves at their base in winter. Perennials may be used throughout your landscape to provide extra color. They can be used as groundcovers, mixed with annuals, used as an accent, or grown in containers. Perennials are available in the spring and fall for full sun or heavy shade.

To get the most out of perennials, remove old flowers to encourage rebloom. Cut the flowers back to ground level after blooming is finished. Remove dead foliage and stems in the fall and mulch. Most perennials will eventually become overcrowded and will need to be divided. Fall is the best time to plant perennials to allow them to become established before winter; however, more choices and varieties are available in the spring.

Zone 7, Inc. has an extensive variety of perennials specifically for this area!
