Shrubs may be either evergreen (green year-round) or deciduous (lose leaves or foliage in the winter). They have a wide variety of uses in the landscape depending on their mature size. Shrubs are available for either full sun or shade, making them versatile in a landscape.

To help with the proper selection of shrubs for your landsape, answer the following questions:

1. How many hours of sunlight will this area receive? How much sunlight and between what hours?
2. Do you prefer evergreen or deciduous shrubs?
3. How much room is available (height and width) for the mature size?
4. What bloom color and bloom season is desired?
