  • When the weather begins to warm, start reseeding your Fescue lawn or just plant seed in the bare spots.
  • Fertilize your fescue lawn, with Espoma Organic lawn fertilizer, perfect for your fescue or Zoysia lawns.
  • Prune camellias after blooming is complete, and then feed then with Holly-tone fertilizer.
  • Divide perennials as needed before new growth advances too much.
  • Fertilize houseplants and repot if needed.
  • If you haven’t already done so, prune roses. Prune 1/3 of the canes on climbers, prune hybrid teas to 18”, then fertilize with rose-tone fertilizers.
  • Cut back Butterfly bushes to 1/3 the size you want them to become this summer.
  • Check Gardenias for Whiteflies. Use our Espoma Insecticidal Soap to control.
  • Use Espoma Insecticidal Soap/ or 3 in 1 insecticide to control things like aphids, lace bugs, mealy bugs, and other pesky bugs on your indoor and outdoor plants.
  • Fertilize spring bulbs with one pound blood meal per 100sq. ft. of bed.
  • Sow cool season vegetables in mid-March. Begin to prepare soil for the summer garden.
  • Add Living Soil® to your garden as a great organic additive for your new plants.
  • Also, don’t forget pre-emergents. Now is the time of year to get ahead of those spring weeds. Use our Espoma Organic Weed Control and Lawn Fertilizer, as a great organic way of controlling those fast growing spring weeds.
