Trees

japanese mapleTrees may be evergreen (green year-round) or deciduous (lose leaves/foliage in the winter). Evergreen trees make good screens. Deciduous trees provide shade, beautiful colored foliage, flowers and fruit. Full grown trees, depending on variety can reach 70' to 100' tall. Trees are available for sun or shade.

To help you with the proper selection of trees for your landscape, answer the following questions:

  1. Is the area for the tree mostly in the sun or in the shade?
  2. Do you prefer evergreen or deciduous trees?
  3. How much room is available (height and width) for the mature size?
  4. What is the primary goal – blooms, fall/spring color, shade, or screens?

Zone 7, Inc. commonly stocks trees in 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, and 25-gallon sizes. B&B (balled and burlap) do not come in a container.

To compare prices on trees, measure the caliber (diameter) of the tree trunk 18” above the soil (using a special tool). The variety of the tree must also be know. Height and container size can be deceiving. Then, visually observe the quality of the tree.

Zone 7, Inc. has an extensive variety of trees specifically for blooms, color, shade, or screens.
